Thomas Parker was born on 14 July, 1845, at Cripplegate, London, England to Thomas and Elizabeth Parker, and baptized at St. Giles without Cripplegate, London on 5 September, 1847, by James Carver, Minister[1]. At the time of his baptism, Thomas's father was working as a Porter and the family were living on Princes Street, Barbican?, London.
At the time of the 1851 Census, Thomas Parker, 5, in School, was living with his parents, Thomas Parker, 50, Porter at Bonnet Warehouse, and Elizabeth, 50, Bornset (Bonnet) Maker, and sister Elizabeth, 8, also in School, at Cripplegate, Middlesex, London, where he was reportedly born[2].
At the time of the 1861 Census, Thomas's father had died and Thomas, 15, Shop Boy Bookbinder, was living with his Widowed mother, Elizabeth Parker, 60, Straw Bonnet Maker, and sister Elizabeth, 18, Envelope Folder, on Rose Street, St. Luke, Finsbury, London[3].
