Mary Essie Parkinson (or Greenhough, married name Russell) was born in 1869 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, the daughter of Amelia (Parkinson) Brien.^{[citation needed]}

She married Robert Alfred Russell on 6 February 1889 in Carlton, Victoria.^[1] Their daughter was:

• Violet Russell (1889–?)^[2]

Mary died in 1941 at Coburg, Victoria, Australia. ^[3]

Mary was mentioned on a memorial in Melbourne General Cemetery, Carlton North, Melbourne City, Victoria, Australia with a death date of 13 September 1941.^[4]
