Jane or Jenny was likely born around 1800 in Lancashire, England. She had a son, Robert, out of wedlock and he was baptised on May 25, 1825.^[1] She is listed as a spinster and they were living in Warton or 'Warles' at the time.

Research Notes

She may have died after 1847 because she's not noted as deceased on Robert's marriage record.^[2] She is crossed out on the record so she could be dead, but that could also be because she is the mother. Her occupation is listed as "labourer".

If she was born in Wharles, then there is this baptism for a Jenny Parkinson living in Wharles:

• Jenny, the child of Thomas Parkinson and Jenny, was baptised on December 25, 1807 in Kirkham, Lancashire, England. Abode: Wharles.^[3]

There is a Jenny Parkinson who died in 1826 and was living in Wharles:

If she died young, it would explain why Robert lived with the Ormonds in 1841 and not with Jane.
