Biography

William Parmeter was born on 17 September 1905, a son of John M. Parmeter and his wife, born Mary B. Stetson.^[1]

William S. Parmeter and Dorothy B. Andrews were married in Colrain, Massachusetts, on 26 August 1932. Both were residents of Colrain and were marrying for the first time. He was age 26, born in Amherst, Massachusetts, the son of John M. Parmeter and Mary B. Stetson, and working as a mechanic. She was 23, born in Deerfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of William S. Andrews and Lucy A. Ladd, and working as a nurse. ^[2]

William Stetson Parmeter registered for the World War II draft on 16 October 1940 in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. He reported that he was 35 years old, born in Amherst, Massachusetts, on 17 September 1905, living in Longmeadow, and self-employed at 8 Winter Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. He listed his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Bennett Parmeter, as the person who would always know his address. ^[4]

In February 1951, William Parmeter and his wife lived on Maple Street in Hatfield, Massachusetts, sharing their home with his father, John Parmeter.^[5]

William S. Parmeter died in Northampton, Massachusetts, on 23 March 1997.^[6]
