George died on 26 May 1936 in Palmerston North, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand, aged 67.[4] He was buried in Bunnythorpe Cemetery, Palmerston North, Palmerston North City, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand (plot: Block 8 - Plot 40).[5]
