Parr—King. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Duncan's Church of England, Violet Town, on 23nd November, when Ivy Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. King, was married to Mr. Charles Parr son of Mrs. and the late Mr. E. Parr. The church was nicely decorated by friends of the bride, the decorations including a large wedding bell of white flowers. As she entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of the organ, played by Mr. Harcourt, the bride made a dainty picture in a lovely frock of ivory georgette, fully flared, ankle-length in the front, and dipping a little at the back, with a hip flounce falling from the waist line, and the semi-fitting bodice was shirred at the sides and front, with spray of white and silver from shoulder. From the back of the neck a flat bow, held by a diamante buckle, had ends falling almost to the hem. Over this was worn a beautiful sliver? and tulle veil (lent by the bride's sister). She carried a bouquet of watsonias, heath and pale pink foliage. Her sister, Miss Elsie King, was the bridesmaid, and wore a frock of delphinium blue, with tight-fitting skirt, finished at the shoulder with a pink spray. A pastel picture hat was worn, and she carried a bouquet of delphiniums, pink carnations and fern. The bride's mother wore a smart frock of black georgette, the flared skirt having a finely pleated panel in front, and the bodice finished with a jabot, with cornering in red, gold and black. Her black satin hat had roulettes of straw, and red velvet flowers, and she carried a posey of red carnations and fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of black satin with black satin hat, and carried a posey of carnations and fern. Mr. and Mrs. King entertained a large number of guests at a wedding tea in the Parish Hall. The tables were beautifully decorated, the bride's table having vases of delphiniums, and in the centre was a tiered wedding cake. Mr. and Mrs. Parr left by the evening train on their honeymoon. the bride travelling in a frock of Sahara brown crepe de chine, relieved with fawn with hat and shoes to match. Many beautiful presents were received. Prior to the wedding Miss Ivy King was the guest of the Girls' Club at a kitchen tea, when a beautiful lot of presents were received.[1]
