A Memorial service for DelVerna West, 70, of Hawthorne, is planned for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Gunther's Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Fallon Cemetery.
West died Nov. 13, at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1927, in Fallon to Delmer Parsons and LaVerne Lehman. She had lived in Hawthorne since 1981, coming form Portland, Ore.
West was a security guard at the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Depot, retiring in November 1996. While in Oregon, she was active in the Eagles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur West; daughter Patricia Casey; and brothers Delmer Parsons, Rodger Parsons; and sister Linda Williams
Survivors include daughters, Anita Hinchliffe, of Ashburn, Va., Marylin Casey, of Portland; son, Marvin Casey, of Demlo, Ore.; brother, Daniel Parson, of Winnemucca; sisters Jacquline and Lois Olds, both of Milwaukee, Ore.; Midlred Barcrofts and Patricia Howard, of Fernley, Margaret young, of Bellendorf, Iowa, Barbara Sunderland and Melba Gentry of Hawthorne; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews;
Arrangements are under the direction of Genter's Funeral Home in Hawthorne.[4]
