Biography

Marion was born in 1909 in Utah. She was the daughter of John Francis Paschek and Mabel Jenny Leming.[1]

The 1910 Census[2] shows her at age 7 months (enumerated on 23 Apr 1910) in the home of her parents in Forest Dale, Salt Lake County, Utah.

The 1920 Census[3] shows her at age 10 in the home of her parents in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.

The 1930 Census[4] shows her at age 20 in the home of her parents in St. Louis, Missouri.

She married Harvey Nichols Holt (1909-1950) on 3 Sep 1930 in Waterloo, Illinois. Their children:

  1. Barbara Ann (Holt) Ford Wallmark (1934–2014)
  2. Cynthia Lee (Holt) Rome
  3. Harvey Nichols Holt Jr (1942–1981)

From the St. Louis Globe-Democrat newspaper: [5]

Dr. and Mrs. John Francis Paschek, former St. Louisans, now residing in Los Angeles, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Marian Barbara Paschek, to Mr. Harvey N. Holt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Holt of St. Louis.

The marriage took place September 4 before the Pascheks left for California, but Mrs. Harvey N. Holt remained with her family until her return on February 1.

They met three years ago while both were students at Washington University. She is a member of Sigma Pi Gamma and he Is a XI Sigma Theta. He is also a member of the St. Louis Engineers' Club. Mr. and Mrs. Holt will make their home In St. Louis. [5]

The 1940 Census[6] shows her at age 30 with her husband, a daughter, and her mother-in-law in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.

The 1950 Census[7] shows her at age 40 with her husband, three children, and her widowed mother in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. She is keeping house.

Her husband died in 1950.[8]

She died on 8 Mar 1991 in California,[9] and is buried at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California.[10] Excerpted from her obituary: [11]

Holt, Marian B, age 81; died on March 8, 1991 at Manor Care Convalescent hospital following a long illness. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah and resident of Palm Springs for three years and of California for sixty years; survived by daughters Barbara Wallmark of Palm Springs and Cynthia Roma of Kona, Hawaii; daughter-in-law Yvonne Holt of Pacific Palisades; sister, Margaret McClaver of Sacramento and brother, John Paschek of Brentwood; also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
