Biography

According to Helen Patman, wife of James Patman (son of Maggie Cheek), Tom was kicked in the head by a mule as a boy and almost didn't live. He was never the same afterwards; wild, dangerous, criminal. He rode with a gang as a scout and killed two Ellis County deputy sheriffs before the Ellis County sheriff shot and killed him.
