BENNETSVILLE, Feb. 7 - Funeral services were to be held at 3 p. m. today for Edward A. Patterson, 79, who died here yesterday at the home of his son, William Patterson, after a month's serious illness and two years of declining health.
The services were to be conducted at the Whitner Funeral home by the Rev. Clyde Quick, pastor of Bethal Methodist church, and the Rev. R. C. Griffith, pastor of the First Methodist church, with internment in Bethel church cemetery.
Mr. Patterson, a son of the late Dr. R. J. Patterson and Mrs. Rebecca Easterling Patterson, was a native of Marlboro county, and a farmer of the Moore section of the county. He was a member of Bethel church, which he served for about ten years as Sunday school superintendent and for many years as a steward.
154y5 Edward Arthur (Ned) Patterson, born in 1872, died in February 1952, married Ellen Risher. They lived at the Captain Henry Easterling homeplace in Marlboro County, South Carolina since need fell heir to that part of the estate."
