Mary Patterson was born in 1871. She passed away in 1949, and was buried at King Cemetery, Ludwig, Johnson County, Arkansas.[1]
Mrs. Mollie King Dies Today After Long Illness
"Mrs. Mollie King, 77 Years old, member of a pioneer Johnson County family, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs Bertha [Myrtle King] Gammill of Clarksville, Thursday afternoon after a long illness. Her condition had been serious about two weeks. Born and reared in Johnson County, Mrs. King had spent all her life here. She was the wife of the late A. P. ["Pell"] King, farmer, and member of a widely known family. The former Mollie Patterson, she was the daughter of the late George and Delilah Patterson.
"Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. at the New King Cemetery, near Stilwell. Rev. Clyde Daniel, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, Clarksville, will officiate. Arrangements will be directed by the Hardwicke Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be: [F.L.] Windy Morris, Richard King, Jr., Hall Skidgel, Taylor King, Robert Taylor and Otis Skidgel. In addition to Mrs. Gammill, survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Richard King and Mrs. Susan Skidgel of Clarksville, Mrs. Ben Foster, Howe, Oklahoma; and three granddaughters, Mrs. Windy Morris, Clarksville, and Eileen and Barbara King of Fort Smith."[2]
