Catherine Paul
Fille de Pierre Paul et de Jeanne Tartillion de la paroisse St-Nicolas-des-Champs de Paris, en Île-de-France, née vers 1639[1] (42 ans au recensement 1681, 57 en 1696, 64 en 1702 et 60 en 1704 à l'Hôtel-Dieu, environ 67 à sa sépulture en 1705). (Landry dit que son père est défunt à son mariage, Jetté ne le cite pas défunt)
Elle arrive à Québec le 3 juillet 1668 à bord du vaisseau La Nouvelle France[2] comme Fille du Roy, apportant des biens estimés à 200 livres, ne sachant pas signer.[1]
Mariage
Le 15 octobre 1668 devant le notaire Paul Vachon, Jean Chambre dit Lachambre fit un contrat de mariage avec Catherine Paul.[3]
Le 20 octobre 1668 à la chapelle de Beauport, Jean de Chambe, fils de feu Étienne de Chambe et de Jacquette Augère, de Voulesme évêché de Poitiers, épousa Catherine Paul, fille de Pierre Paul et de Jeanne Tartillion, de la paroisse de St-Nicolas-des-Champs de la ville de Paris, en présence de Pierre Lefebvre et de Pierre Marcou, le prêtre Charles de Lauzon grand-vicaire de Msgr de Petrée célébrant (enregistré à ND de Québec).[4]

À la sépulture de Marie Françoise en 1687 ils sont dits résidant dans le village St-Romain de cette paroisse (de Charlesbourg).[5]
Jean de Lachambre décède à l'Hôtel-Dieu de Québec en mars 1694.[5]
Catherine Paul fut marraine de 3 enfants: Marie Catherine Chauvet, fille de Jean Chauvet dit Lagerne le 3 mars 1682 à Charlesbourg; sa petite-fille Marie Catherine Girardeau le 7 juillet 1697 à Québec (ND); et sa petite-fille Marie Gertrude Dechambre le 24 septembre 1700 à Charlesbourg.[5]
Décès
Catherine Paule, veuve de René Dechambre, décède à Charlesbourg et y est inhumée le 27 novembre 1705, l'acte lui donnant environ 67 ans.[8]
Catherine Paul was born around 1639 in Paris, St-Nicolas-des-Champs parish, in Île-de-France, daughter of Pierre Paul and of Jeanne Tartillion. She arrived in Québec city on 3 July 1668 aboard the ship La Nouvelle France[2] as a Fille du Roy, bringing goods estimated at 200 livres, she could not sign.[1]
Marriage
On 15 October 1668 before notary Paul Vachon, Jean Chambre dit Lachambre entered into a marriage contract with Catherine Paul.[3]
On 20 October 1668 in the chapel of Beauport, Jean de Chambe, son of the late Étienne de Chambe and of Jacquette Augère, from Voulesme, Poitiers diocese, married Catherine Paul, daughter of Pierre Paul and of Jeanne Tartillion, of the parish of St-Nicolas-des-Champs in the city of Paris, in the presence of Pierre Lefebvre and of Pierre Marcou, the priest Charles de Lauzon grand-vicar of Msgr de Petrée celebrating (recorded in ND de Québec).[4]

On the funeral of Marie Françoise in 1687 they are cited resident in the village St-Romain of the parish (of Charlesbourg).[5]
Jean de Lachambre died in Hôtel-Dieu de Québec in March 1694.[5]
Catherine Paul was godmother of 3 children: Marie Catherine Chauvet, daughter of Jean Chauvet dit Lagerne on 3 March 1682 in Charlesbourg; her granddaughter Marie Catherine Girardeau on 7 July 1697 in Québec (ND); and her granddaughter Marie Gertrude Dechambre on 24 September 1700 in Charlesbourg.[5]
Death
Catherine Paule, widow of René Dechambre, died in Charlesbourg and was buried there on 27 November 1705, the record giving her around 67 years of age.[8]
Son époux est nommé René au baptême de sa petite-fille Marie Gertrude le 24 septembre 1700 lorsqu'elle marraine, et aussi sur la sépulture de Catherine Paul. Il est nommé Pierre au baptême de sa petite-fille Marie Catherine Girardeau le 7 juillet 1697 lorsqu'elle est marraine. Il est déjà défunt sur tous ces actes.[5]
