Biography

Henry was born on 20 Jun 1714 in Kingston, Ulster, New York Colony. He was the son of Henry Pawling, Jr. and Jacomyntjen Kunst.

He married Eleanor Pawling in 1740.

He died on 24 Sep 1792 in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery, Pennsylvania.

His will names sons John, Nathan, Henry, Benjamin, Jesse and William, and daughters Catharine Stalmford and Rachel Bartholomew. It also lists grandsons Henry, son of John, and Levy, son of Henry. Sons John and Henry are named executors.[1] Leach names children: Rachel, b. 1742, John, b. 17 May 1744, Henry, b. 25 Sept. 1746, Benjamin, Nathan b. 1750, Jesse, William, Catharine.[2]

Pawling, Rebecca, Age 74, 1830, In memory of Rebecca wife of Benjamin Pawling who departed this life September 19th 1830 aged 74 years, 6 months And 21 days, Poor condition 2008 – stone broken – chalking process required to read in 2008. 1980s survey shows Rebecca as wife of William Lane who is buried in next grave. This seems to be in error as stone where able to be read gives no indication of relationship to William Lane. McAllister and cemetery memorial book indicate wife of Benjamin as show here, Sect. 1, F23.
