Find a grave website indicates birth and death dates as follows: BIRTH 3 Jul 1898 DEATH 14 Jan 1968 (aged 69) Buried in Bishop Mills Cemetery along with his wife Ethel Eva (Bigford) Payne.

Found through Find a Grave additionally a tombstone which marks another Josiah Payne in Merrickville. BIRTH 1858 DEATH 9 Dec 1898 (aged 39–40)

Which could show Josiah's father also as being named Josiah. Merrickville is quite close to Bishops Mills. Also lists Josiah Payne Sr's wife as Margaret Eagleton Payne: BIRTH 1822 DEATH 19 Jan 1924 (aged 101–102).

Have additionally found in relation to the supposed Josiah Payne Sr and in particular Margaret Eagleton this:

"MARY JANE EAGLETON was born about 1827

She was the oldest daughter of JAMES EAGLETON an immigrant from Tiperary and his wife MARY MCELROY or MCGILROY of Co Wexford Ireland. She had sisters Catherine and Margaret as far as I know. I know of no brothers but there MAY have been a brother James.

Her father was an innkeeper in Merrickville in the 1840's and the inn seems to have been taken over by her brother in law Josiah Payne .

She may have been Catholic OR Protestant and is recorded as such in various documents.

MARY JANE EAGLETON married JOHN VANEXAN in the Parish of Kemptville on Sept 11 1849. They married in an Anglican Ceremony.

She and John had two children - JOHN EAGLETON VANEXAN (b Aug 6 1852) and MARY ANN VANEXAN b Sept 12 1850 (who married William McIntyre)

MARY JANE died in 1910 (she would have been 93 on her next birthday) and was buried in Merrickville Union Burial Ground April 28 1910."

I am attempting to contact the poster to see if there is any additional information regarding Margaret that they may have and her husband to confirm if they had a son named Josiah.
