Biography

William was born in West Hoathly, Sussex and baptised there on 23 December 1849.^[1] He is the son of William Payne and Mary Leppard.

In 1851 he was living with his parents at North Lane, West Hoathly.^[2]

William cannot be located in the 1861 Census. There is a possible 1854 burial in Worth, Sussex.^[3]
