He was born in April 1820 and became a locomotive engineer. He formed with Mr Bayer the firm of Bayer-Peacock in Goton, Manchester. For a full history see www.bayerpeacock.co.uk. He lived at Goton Hall, became a J.P. and was a liberal MP. He was philanthropic and built Brookfield Unitarian Church. He married firstly Hannah Crowther (born in 1837) and they had three children, she died on May 20th 1884. He then married Francis Littlewood and by her had two children. He died on March 3rd 1889 and is interred in the tomb at Brookfield. She died on October 31st 18?? (illegible).
