Shuldham Peard Esq is Notable.

Shuldham Peard, Esq., Vice Admiral of the White is a Notable. He participated in the Battle of the Malta Convoy and had a large share in the capture of the Genereux. During the Napoleonic Wars, Admiral Peard commanded the sea fencibles on the coast of Cornwall.[1]

Shuldham Peard, son of Captain George Peard, RN, was baptised at St Gluvias in Penryn, Cornwall on 29 October 1761. [2]

Following in his father's footsteps he first went to sea in 1776 aboard the Worcester, captained by Mark Robinson, ultimately achieving the rank of Vice Admiral.

On 24 December 1791 at St Mary, Alverstoke he married Elizabeth Bligh, daughter of Richard Rodney Bligh and his wife, Ann Worsley. [3] She was the mother of his son, George, born in 1793 at Gosport. [4] About 1798 Shuldham secured a divorce from Elizabeth on the grounds of her "Criminal Conversation" with William Henry Lys.

His second wife was Matilda Fortescue, daughter of William Fortescue of Penwarne. They were married at Plympton Erle in Devon on 11 May 1810. [5] Matilda was mother of his son, John Whitehead Peard born at Fowey in 1811.[6]
