Jerusha was a child of Nathaniel and Mary (Mitchel) Peck, born in Warren, Rhode Island, on 18 June 1764. [1]
Ira Ballou Peck cited a family bible in the handwriting of her father, Maj. Nathaniel Peck for additional biographical details for Jerusha. The bible he cited was printed in London in 1728 and had previously belonged to James Mitchel, the father of Mary (Mitchel) Peck. Ira Ballou Peck said the bible "was in the possession of the granddaughter of Nathaniel, Mrs. Elizabeth Moore of Leverett, Mass., in 1864 when I visited her for the purpose of examining this record." According to the bible, Jerusha married Samuel Miles and settled in Williamsburg, Massachusetts. He died at a relatively early age. Elizabeth died on 8 October 1848, apparently in Williamstown.
