Biography

According to Ira Ballou Peck:^[1]

Simeon Peck settled upon land given to him by his father. He was a blacksmith by trade. He deeded away his lands in 1758-9 and 1760. He afterwards settled at Amherst, Mass. The records at Springfield, Mass., show that he bought and sold lands in Amherst from 1773 to 1783. He died March 29, 1783. He married Priscilla West, of Warren, R.I., November 24, 1748. [Lists 5 children: Bethiah, Joseph Kelly, Simeon, Mary, and Nathaniel].

The marriage of Simeon Peck and Prescilla West was recorded at Warren, Rhode Island, on 24 November 1748. The marriage was performed by Rev. Solomon Townsend.^[2] Births of six children were recorded at Warren:^[3]

1. Bethiah, 3 October 1751.
2. Joseph Kelley, 10 January 1754.
3. Bettey, 16 July 1755.
4. Simeon, 6 February 1756.^[4]
5. Mary, 17 April 1758.
6. Nathaniel, 17 August 1760.
