Biography

Thaddeus Penfield was married to a descendant of the immigrants William Beardsley and Mary Harvie.

Thaddeus was born in 1765. He is the son of James Penfield and Ellen Burr. He passed away in 1845. ^[1]

91. Thaddeus. Born 7 May 1765, bapt 19th May, died 28 June 1845, ae 80 yrs at Danbury, Conn. He m. Hannah Beardsley 20 Jan. 1791 in South Church of New Fairfield - Rec. Vol. 1 p. 41. She was born ca 1769, 5th child of Capt. Phineas and Ruth (Fairchild) Beardsley and bapt. 1769. Listed in "New Bearsley (sic) Gen." #127 p. 70. She d. 29 May 1831, ae 61 yrs. at Litchfield, Conn. Obit "Post and Enquirer" 16 June 1831. Decsendants p. 39.

237. Lydia. Born 12 Dec. 1803 and m. 1830 to Jabez Treadwell Jr., son of Jabez Sr. and Lucy (Crofut) Treadwell, born 16 Feb. 1795, bapt. 1795 Christ Ch., New Fairfield. He died 21 Jan. 1850, ae. 54-11-23. She died 28 Jan. 1891. Both buried in New Fairfield Cemetery. Jacobus Vol. 2 p. 969 of 7 to 9 part V=olume "Familes of Old Fairfield." Two daus.: Lydia d.y. and Hannah d. 2-18-1834, ae 2 yrs. 3 mos. 15 das. - buried with parents.

238. Levi G. Born 1 Sept. 1807 New Fairfield and d. 9 June 1851 - obit "Danbury Times" June 11th. He was injured on his farm. County Representative in State Legislature in 1840s. M(1) Cornelia Stevens 21 Jan. 1832. Born 21 Jan. 1814 and d. 16 Feb. 1834, ae 20 yrs. She was dau. Levi (6) and Betsy (Beardsley) Stevens (1st wife) of New Fairfield. See "Beardsley Gen" p. 180.
