He was a graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, became Q.C. and a bencher of King's Inns, Dublin.[1]
He took part in the second Boat race between Oxford and Cambridge teams on 17th June 1836 which was the first race to be held in London Oxford were favourites to win but sadly did not as Cambridge proved the stronger team

He married Elizabeth Jemima (Mullins) De Moleyns on 8 August 1842. The name on the marriage License bond was Eliza Jemima de Moleyns. [3]The family name had changed from Mullins to De Moleyns in 1842

He passed away in 1855. Last address - Merrion Square South, Dublin. Probate in 1855 [5][6]
