Biography

When Marcus was 24 he married Ann Graves on 20 July 1769 in Sussex, Virginia.^{[1][2][3][4][5]} The couple had 2 children: Polly Pennington and Sarah Pennington. Marcus was an executor of his father-in-law Solomon Graves' estate.^[6]

Marcus' will names his wife Anne and the following additional heirs:

2. daughter Sally Marable
3. grandson James Marable
4. son Graves
5. son Winfield
6. daughter Polly Graves

Slaves

Marcus Pennington's will includes the names of numerous enslaved people. Marcus's will was written on 13 January 1809 and was proved on 7 June 1810 in Sussex County Court, Virginia.^[7]

Solomon Graves II (608) was born about 1775-1794 (or about 1780) in VA, and died in 1825 in Sussex Co., VA. He married Polly Pennington (#615), daughter of Marcus Pennington and Anne Graves (#119), on 22 April 1807. She was born about 1780 and died in 1850.
