1850 Census. Jesse was born in South Carolina and living with his spouse, Mary, who was also born in South Carolina. The Census was taken in Fayette County, Alabama. along with five of their children: Missoura (Annie Missouri), age 21 b. 1829 in South Carolina; Melissa, age 19 b. 1831 in South Carolina; Missina, age 17 (Misnire) b. 1833 in Alabama; Elmina, age 14 b. 1836 in Alabama; and Pinkney, age 9 b. in 1841 in Alabama. They all lived in house number 16 next door to Sarah Pennington who lived in house no. 15.[2]
Note: The Census taker wrote down the wrong birth dates for both Jesse and Mary.
