Katherine Gladys Penton was born on January 14, 1882 in Southsea, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of Colonel Charles Thomas Wren Penton (of the East Indies Connaught Rangers) and Emily Wells (of St. Hilier, Jersey).[1] Katherine was trained as a nurse and travelled extensively throughout her life.
In the 1901 census Katherine (age 19) was the single daughter of Charles Penton in Kensington, London, England. Her father was a Retired Colonel Of Infantry.[2]

Katherine (age 23), daughter of Charles Thomas Wren Penton, married James Mc Intyre on 1 February 1905 in Saint Mary Magdalene, Wandsworth Common: Trinity Road, Wandsworth, England. James was the assistant resident of Northern Nigeria. Their marriage announcement appeared on page 1 of the South London Mail.[3][4][5][6]

Together they had one child, James Penton Mcintyre (1906-2003), who was born on September 24, 1906 in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada.[7] When they returned to England the child was baptized on October 30, 1907 at their church St Mary Magdalene's in Surrey.[8]
In the 1911 census Katherine (age 29) was a married nurse on St Pancras St Jude Gray's Inn Road, London, England. She was a Hospital Nurse. Her son was staying with her parents home.[9]

Katherine and her four year old son arrived aboard the ship "Corinthian" on 6 October 1911 at Quebec City, Canada where she was working as a nurse. It's presumed her husband was still residing there, at the time, [10] by they departed from St. John's New Brunswick onboard the Empress of Britain on January 6, 1912 in Liverpool, England. She was still recorded as married.[11]
In the 1939 register Katharine (age 57) was recorded as married in Staverton Vicarage, Totnes, Devon, England. Her husband was the Vicar of Staverton, Devon.[14]

Katharine Gladys Drake Brockman (age 58) died on 14 May 1940 at the Vicarage in Staverton, Totnes, Devon, England, United Kingdom.[15] Her death and funeral was reported was in several obituaries throughout the month of May 1940.[16][17][18]
Her estate passed probate on 15 June 1940 in Devon, England.[19]

VICAR'S WIFE Requiem At Staverton Church Prior to cremation at Plymouth there was a Requiem at Staverton Parish Church yesterday morning for Mrs. Katherine Gladys Drake-Brockman, wife of the vicar (Rev. E. D. Drake-Brockman).
Headed by the rural dean (Rev. H. F. Beaumont, of Stoke Gabriel), Rev. R. A. Edwards (rector Dartington), who conducted the service, and Rev. Preb H. Mackworth Drake (Berry Pomeroy), the cortege wended its way through the nearby vicarage garden into the churchyard, followed by a number of parishioners.
Mourners were: The widower; Maj. Drake- Brockman, brother-in-law; Mrs. Mackaye. sister; Mrs. Howard Kyan, Mrs Sparshott, Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Smith, and Mr. Rice, friends.
Among those present were Dr. Ashleigh. the Archdeacon of Totnes (Yen. J. L. Cobham). Rev. and Mrs H. R. Evans (Broadhempston). Rev. and Mrs. D Morse (formerly of Ratterv). Rev. and Mrs. M. V.
