At the parsonage of the Methodist Episcopal church in this place on Monday. Rev. A. S. Luking united in marriage Miss Sarah Maymie Hess. of Dickeys Mountain, this county, and Mr. John D. Perdew. of Clearville. Bedford eounty. The bride is a daughter of the late B. F. Hess and his wife Catherine McEldowney Hess. of Thompson township, and the groom is a son of the late Jesse and Annie Gordon Perdew. Southampton township. Bedford county. The bride is an excellent young woman. and the groom an industrious young man employed in the Gibbony Planing Mill at Everett. in which town Mr. and Mrs. Perdew will go to housekeeping.
Obituary of John Doyle Perdue
Funeral services for John Doyle Perdue. 67. of Willow Hill. Franklin County. were held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 0'clock at the Kelso funeral home in McConnellsburg. The services were conducted by the Rev. James T. Smith. pastor of the Burnt Cabins Methodist Church. and interrnent was made in the Union cemetery near McConnellsburg, Mr. Perdue died Sunday mormng. June 20. 1954. in the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been a patient in the hospital since June 1. He was born in Bedford Coun- ty on Sept. 8, 1886. the son Of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Per- due. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission at the Fort Littleton interchange.
