Cecil was born in 1895; his mother died the next year. He was with his father in Colborne, Northumberland County, in 1901. He was a major in "22 MED BTY" in World War I, was wounded and was decorated. He is likely the Cecil Peterson in Toronto in 1921 with wife Nora. He died in 1941 in Cobourg, Northumberland County.
He was a law student who joined the army in December of 1914 and was sent overseas as a lieutenant in the 2nd Battery, 2nd Canadian Division On his return to civilian life he became the postmaster of Cobourg.
The 1911 census seems to give Cecil's birthdate as April 1895.
