The historical book, History of Rockingham and Strafford counties, New Hampshire : with biographical sketches of many of its pioneers and prominent men by Duane Hamilton Hurd, does show that Edmund indeed went to Ticonderoga from Hampton in July of 1776 (page 523), along with several others from the town.
