At the time of the 1851 England, Wales & Scotland Census, Thomas, Grace, Maria Grace, Elizabeth C., Mary C., and David Phillips were listed as living on Queen Street, Coity, Glamorganshire.^[3] At the time of the census, Thomas' occupation was listed as "Wheelwright and Timber Dealer".
