Thadeous Oliver "Thad" Philips born in July of 1850[1] in Alabama to Jesse and Margaret Philips.[2][3][4] He died 05 Jun 1931 in Zwolle, Sabine Parish, Louisiana.[5]
He married Talitha Cooley[6] about 1887.[1][7][8] In the 1900 and 1910 census, they have nephew Albert C Phillips, and niece, Leona "Lela" Phillips, living with them.[1][9] In the 1920 census, they list a second head of house as Albert Phillips, age 25, his wife, Addie and their daughters, Leona Phillips, and Mildred Phillips at the same address.[7]
Albert and Leona were children of Thaddeus' brother, George W Phillips. It appears that Thaddeus and his wife may have raised their niece and nephew.[10]
