William was born about 1802, his birth year is estimated based on the ages of his children. The name of William's parents and the location of his birth are, at present, unknown. In addition, the name of his wife is a mystery.

The name ‘William’ is recorded on both his daughters’ marriage certificates. William’s profession is listed as farmer. The name of his spouse is unknown.
Tithe Records
William Phillips is listed as both a Landowner and an occupier of Land in Little Hereford in 1845. It looks like he was resident at “Pulpit Farm” but this needs confirmation. Google “Pulpit Farm” and you will find “Pulpits Farm” which is almost certainly the same place but there does not appear to be any photographs.
William Philips also owned and occupied some land nearby. The tithe records show him as occupier of land, Orchard and house here, and apparently the farmhouse is still standing. [1]
