Biography

John William "Bill" Phillips was born in 1925 in Monroe, Walton, Georgia, United States to Fox Galloway Phillips and Beulah Peebles. Bill Phillips worked at Hormel meats delivering meats from the Tucker, Georgia plant. That was where he retired from in the 1970s. He delivered ice before his job at Hormel. His first wife was Dorothy Maedell Shumann. Married 1943 in Harris County, Texas. One daughter was born to that marriage, Glenna Gail Phillips. Bill and Dorothy were divorced in 1944 Conyers, Georgia, according g to his marriage license to his second wife. He married 2nd to Hazel Norton in Jefferson, Alabama. They had one son Gary Dale Phillips, he died at the age of 3 in 1950 by a terrible accident. Married 3rd to Grace Marie Tarallo. They had 2 children, John Anthony and Joan Phillips. He later developed dementia, in the late 1980s to early 1990s. His wife, Grace Tarallo Phillips, took care of him in their home until June 2000, where he was taken to a nursing home. He passed away 2 weeks after his admission to the nursing home.
