Mara moved to the US in 1890 [1910 census] or 1899 [1920 census].
She married John Dickson on 7 Jun 1905 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Mara was a nurse living at “The Eastman”, and John was a physician of Ashtabula. He had been married twice previously.[1]
In 1910, John (doctor), Mara (nursing), their daughter Wilba, and John’s children from a previous marriage lived on Laurian Street, Ashtabula. In 1920 John, Mara, and Wilba lived in Morgan, Ashtabula. John died in 1920.[2]
Mara moved back to Canada, and her obituary was published in the Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan): Funeral services for Mrs. Mara Dickson. 68, superintendent of Emergency hospital for some 12 years, who died Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Shavalier, London, Ont., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Willard George funeral home, London. Mrs. Dickson, widow of Dr. J. A. Dickson, is survived by her daughter, four sisters, including Mrs. George Wallace and Miss Lena Phillips, both of Niagara Falls, Ont., and a brother.
She is buried in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford.[3]
