PICKEN - Richard G. Picken, 80, 1725 Cumberland St., died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 1986, in Amberwood Healthcare Centre after a long illness. Born March 19, 1906, in Argyle, son of David and Margaret Montgomery Picken. Married the former Ruby Eleanor McEachran in Caledonia, March 29, 1933. Lived in Argyle until 1928, then moved to Rockford, in 1933 moved to Caledonia where he farmed until 1946.
Returned to Rockford where he was cabinetmaker and co-owner of Park Cabinet Co., retiring in 1968. Past director of Boone County Farm Bureau board, past secretary of Boone County Locker Co. board. Member Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, Argyle, and its first financial secretary and former superintendent of Sunday school.
Survivors include wife, Ruby; a brother, Ralph Picken, Rockford; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Picken, Rockford, Hazel Picken, Winter Park, Fla. a brother-in-law and his wife Kenneth and Iris McEachran, Rockford.
Services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME LTD., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with the Eev. Steven Plank, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial in Scottish Cemetery, Argyle. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Memorials to Willow Creek Presbyterian Church. [8]
