Biography
Rayma Jean Pickens was born on October 18, 1921 in Newport, Jackson, Arkansas, United States, daughter of Fred Pickens (1891–1949) and Clara Ella Gray (1890–1952).[1]
Jeannie married Herbert L. Thomas Jr. (born 1921), son of Herbert Leon Thomas, R. and Ruby Geraldine Collier on 9 June 1947 in Pulaski Arkansas, United States.[2] Their children were:
- Gray Pickens (1949- )
- Claire Pickens (1950- )
Jeannie died on March 14, 2007 in Hot Springs, Garland, Arkansas, aged 85. She was buried in Mount Holly Cemetery, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
One of first women to attend University of Arkansas School of Law; member Women's Emergency Committee during Little Rock Public Schools crisis of 1957; Mrs. Herbert L. Thomas, Jr.[3]
