Biography

Abigail Pierce was born in Newbury, Essex, Province of Massachusetts Bay on 26 Jan 1701/2, the daughter of Benjamin & Lydia (Frost) Pierce.^[1] Abraham Adams Jr. & Abigail Pierce published their intentions of marriage in Newbury on 29 September 1716.^[2] They married there on 06 December 1716.^[3] Abigail was age 14 at her marriage; Abraham was 20. There was clearly a romance:

In the winter of 1716-17, there were two snow storms which delivered from ten to fifteen feet of snow. Some small houses were completely buried in the snow; and everywhere paths were shoveled under the snow between house and barn, and also from house to house among near neighbors. Snow shoes were in common use throughout the winter.
"Tradition informs us, that a Mr. Abraham Adams, wishing to visit his 'ladye love,' Miss Abigail Pierce, mounted his snow shoes, took a three miles' walk, for that purpose, and entered her residence as he left his own, namely, by the chamber window. He was the first person the family had seen from abroad, for more than a week."^[4]
Abigail was alive in 1771.^[5]

Abigail was born about 1702. She passed away about 1771.
