- Freida L. McQueary, 77
- Freida L. McQueary, Calvary Ridge Road, Yosemite, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at her home. She was 77.
- Born in Yosemite on Oct. 3. 1925, she was the daughter of the late Marion Pike and Lula Wall Pike.
- She was a former employee of Marlene Industries and a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
- Survivors include her husband, William A. McQueary; two sons, William P. McQueary; (and Gayle) McQueary of Hustonville (and Shirley) McQueary of Washington; three daughters, Cathy (and Edward) Pike of Cincinnati, Virginia (and Steve) Pike of Hustonville, and Audrey (and Jeff) Bastin of Yosemite; a sister Rose Howell of California; three brothers, Jim Pike of Carrolton, Scott Pike of Oklahoma and Charles Pike of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
- She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold, Preston and Harold Pike; and four sisters, Beulah Hixson, Dorothy Floyd, Alma Zellars and Linda Ellison.
- Funeral services were March 6 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gale Durham officiating. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
- Pallbearers were Ed and Steve Pike, Gene and Audie McQueary, Craig Pike and Tyler Irvine.
- She was my aunt that got me into genealogy. She gave me a head start on names, dates & places.
She died in her sleep & in her bed, just the way I want to go.
- Heart Failure was the cause. They couldn't operate on her because of calcification. She had me listen to her heart & it made a whooshing sound.
- They live on Calvary Ridge Rd right across & down the the street from where they were buried.
