Walter Piller was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex, England.

Walter was born at 10 St James Place, Chapel St, Shoreditch on 1 August 1853, the son of Walter "Peller" and Susannah Davies.[1] His family name was spelled "Peller" in the registration entry.

In the 1861 census Walter (age 7) was the son of Walter T Peller in Stepney, Middlesex, England.[2]

In the 1871 census Walter (age 16) was the son of Walter Piller in Bethnal Green, London, England.[3]

He married Susan Orange in St Thomas Bethnal Green on 29 May 1876.[4]

Walter and Susan had twelve children:

  • Thomas Walter Pillar (born 1876).[5]
  • Robert Piller (born 1879).[6]
  • Edward John Pillar (born 1881).[7]
  • Louisa Piller (born 1883).[8]
  • Harriet Piller (born 1885, died 1886).[9]

In the 1881 census Walter (age 27), Cabinet Maker, was the married head of household at 12 Tyssen Str., Bethnal Green, London, England.[17]

In the 1891 census Walter (age 38) was the head of household in Bethnal Green, London, England.[18]

In the 1901 census Walter (age 49) was the head of household in Bethnal Green, London, England.[19]

In the 1911 census Walter (age 60), Cabinet Maker, was the married head of household at 17 Elwin St, Bethnal Green, Bethnal Green, London, England.[20]

He died at 17 Elwin Street, Bethnal Green on 28 February 1917.[21]

Walter (age 66) was buried on 8 March 1917 in Tower Hamlets Cemetery, Mile End Old Town, England.[22]
