Biography

Juanita Pinder was a Floridian.

Juanita is a mystery. She was the daughter of Walter and Nannie (Brown?) (Hall) Pinder. Following her mother's death, she and two of her siblings, Mary-Jane and Robert/Earl, were placed in an orphanage. She and Robert/Earl were adopted by separate families in Orlando. Robert/Earl's name was changed. It is not known if Juanita's name was changed. In fact, the spelling of the name "Juanita" is a guess because there are a number of variations that may have been used.

If the 1920 Census record for this family could be located, it would provide more information on Juanita. Unfortunately, the record has not yet been found. There is a record of a family living in Washington, DC, with a similar name, but it is NOT this family. This family was living in the Orlando area in 1920.

Lyn Bradford was kind enough to point out the following observation. More than one "Juanita Pinder" has been located. A different woman named Juanita Pinder [Perry-19058], who was the mother of Ralph James Bailey [Bailey-27966], was born in 1931. Her profile is here [1].

More research is needed to determine whether any relationship exists between the two women named Juanita Pinder, one born in 1917 and the other, in 1931.
