DIED IN SCOTT COUNTY.
Waity Eliza Doan died near Modoc, Scott county, Kansas, at the home of her brother, William Pinneo (sic), March 24, 1921, in her 86th year. In years agone, she was well known in this county, especially in the neighborhoods of Chiles and Westphalia.
Born January 30, 1836, in Kentville, Nova Scotia, she was married to Aaron Doan in 1854, and seven children were born to them, four of whom are living: Mary Houghton, in Chase county; Marila Neill, in Montana; Charles W. Doan, in McCracken, Kansas, and W. A. Doan, in this county. Besides her brother, William, she leaves another brother, Charles Pinneo, living at Niagara Falls, Canada. Mrs. Doan was a good member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. She reached a ripe old age, and nobly did her part in the world.
