He served the United States Navy during World War I. He enlisted on December 10, 1917 and was discharged on August 8, 1919.[2]
He died, at the age of 47, on September 2, 1936 in Dothan, Alabama.[1] He is buried at the Salem Macon Baptist Church Cemetery, Notasulga, Macon County, Alabama.[3]
