Biography

Constance Emily Plant was born in 872 in Rock Ferry, Cheshire.

Note that her birth details have been taken from her census records when she married Raymond Wharton. The fact that her surname is PLANT is implied from birth records in the Rock Ferry area of a female called Constance Emily born in 1872 Rock Ferry. Until this proves incorrect I will assume with an almost positive assumption this is correct.[1]

I believe she "might" be the daughter of Alfred and Fanny Plant. Although this has not been verified as fact. This is taken from a christening record from 18 Feb 1872, Tranmere Parish, Chester located on ancestery.com - it is the same area roughly as Rock Ferry.[2]

She is found in the 1881 census, with her parents Alfred and Fanny staying with Mary A. Michells at 7 Grove Place, Stoke Upon Trent. Her father is listed Alred Plant (born 1847 in Liverpool) a Master Potter Emp 19 People. Her mother Fanny, born in Lincolnshire abt 1850.[3]

She is then found in the 1891 census staying with her Aunt and Uncle, Frank and Mary Esson in Bromley, Kent. Her mother is also staying there as well.[4]

Constance was married to Raymond Wharton (in about 1902 according to the 1911 census, I have been unable to locate a marriage record searching under both Raymond and Constance's names) and they lived in Court Yard Farm in Ringstead, Norfolk.[5]They had two children Leonard Alfred Wharton and Geoffrey Wharton.

She passed away 10 Feb 1953 in Hellesden Hospital, Norwich, Norfolk. [6]
