Biography

James was born 20 Sept 1767 in Pennsylvania, the son of Henry Plaxco and Jane Bankhead. [1] "For unknown reasons, he changed the spelling of his name from Plaxco to Plexico, and all his descendants, with some exceptions, have followed this spelling."[2]

His name was spelled many different ways in census records. In 1800, [3] he was "James Plexco." In 1810, he was "James Plaxco,"[4] and again in 1820.[5] In his will, the spelling is "Plaxico."

James married Margaret Good, the daughter of John and Martha Good, on 3 Oct 1799. She preceded him in death in 1839.

His will was signed 27 Dec 1848 in York County, South Carolina. [6]

James died on 18 Feb 1849 and is buried in Bullock's Creek, York Co., South Carolina.[7]
