Notes
Note N00102The 1910 census shows that KP gave birth to 9 children with 5 still living. There were five children living with the family in 1910. I have always been told that Emma Mance was a daughter of JJ and KP. She is not counted among the 5 living children in the household. The fact that she is not Catherine's birth-daughter is reinforced by the dates. Emma Mance has a birthdate of around 1888. JJ and KP were not married until about 1890. Later, however, Emma is listed as a daughter in KP's obituary. JJ was four years older than KP so it is not inconceivable that he could have been married earlier and that his first wife died. I don't think Emma is a natural child of this couple although on Emma Mance's death certificate, KP is listed as her mother.
