3 Jul 1736 - John Polly of Northfarnham is summoned to answer the Presentment of the Grand Jury against him for a common Swearer. Fined ten shillings or 100 pounds of tobacco. [2]
18 Jan 1743/44 - John writes his will. Son John and daughter Bettey to receive a heifer and a ewe lamb. The rest of his estate to be divided equally between his wife and two children. His wife, unnamed, is executor, along with Daniel Lightfoot and Isaac Webb. [3]
4 Aug 1746 - "John Hill and Michaell Connell by their petition setting forth that they become security for the estate of John Polley Dec'd, and they being Apprehensive that the said Estate is wholly to be Imbezled therefore prays an order as the Law Directs to save them Harmless, It is therefore ordered that if in Case Frances Polly the admx with the will annext does not give them Counter Security, that then they Take the said Estate into their possession."[4]
