William was born in 1915 in Carbon, Alberta. He was the son of Cecil Pope and Gretchen Bailey. By 1921, he lived on the family farm at 21-29-22 W4, near Carbon, Alberta. [1]

The cause of death was Anaemia. His grave marker is V111.E.10. in the Sai Wan War Cemetery He passed away in 1943. [2]
