Biography
Giles was baptised at Mickleton, Gloucestershire on 5 Aug 1611. The register named his father as Mr Edmund Porter. [1]
Giles Porter was in the service of Charles I and died at Oxford.
Giles (Gyles) Porter in a December 1633 letter to his son Edmond: "I have been at Beaconsfield to see my cousin, Nicholas Porter, who is very ill. I have tried. . "

Giles Porter, brother of Endymion Porter (the celebrated Cavalier) is not the brother of Giles Porter whose daughter was Angela Porter.

Porter-6655 and Porter-6608 do not represent the same person because: Giles Porter, son of William Porter and Margaret (Gifford) Porter, is the maternal grandfather of Giles Porter (b. 1611 according to Porter pedigree in Life and Letters of Endymion Porter].

Porter-6669 and Porter-6608 are not ready to be merged because: Giles Porter, son of Edmund Porter and Angela (Porter) Porter, was born in 1611 [Life & Letters of Endymion Porter]. However, Edmund Porter, his father, was not the son of Anthony Porter. That Edmund Porter was the son of William Porter (but not the William Porter who married Margaret Gifford).
