Biography

He was born to the parents of Anne Wyndham and Henry William Portman.^[1][2] He was born in 1771,^[1][2] and was baptised on the 24th of Feb 1771, at Bryanstone, Dorset, England.^[3] He was married twice, firstly to Lucy Whitby, daughter of the Reverend Thomas Whitby, on the 21st of August 1798.^[1][2] He married for a second time, Mary Hulse, daughter of Mary Lethieullier and Sir Edward Hulse, 3rd Bt., on the 22nd of March 1816.^[1][2] He died on the 19th of January 1823 at Rome, Italy.^[1][2] He was buried on the 16th of April 1823, at Bryanstone, Dorset, England.^[4]
