Marie Birgitte Pothier was the daughter of Jean Toussaint Pothier and Angele Boudreau.^[1]
She was born September 24, 1885^[1] in Tusket Wedge, Nova Scotia^[2][3], and was baptised September 27, 1885 at St. Michael's^[1] in Tusket Wedge.^[3]
She grew up in the family home on the Nicholas Road in Tusket Wedge.^[2]
She married Joe Morris.^[1]

In 1908 residents petitioned the Provincial Government for town incorporation and on 16 May 1910, the Town of Wedgeport was officially incorporated. The communities currently known as Upper Wedgeport, Wedgeport, and Lower Wedgeport, became a single town, separate from the Municipality of Argyle.
