George was born in 1884. He was the son of George Wellington and Margaret (Kennedy) Potter. He married Ruth Friends. Obituary transcription: George Potter Carsonville funeral services were held for George F. Potter. 72, lifetime resident of Sanilac county, who died on Monday in his farm home near Carsonville at 2 PM Thursday in the Jewell Funeral home. Rev. Janices Iacos, pastor of the Carsonville Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in Washington Cemetery. Mr. Potter was born in Watertown township, June 26, 1884. He married Miss Ruth Friends, August 21. 1911 in Sandusky. Survivors in addition to his widow are three sons, Daniel, at home, Grant, Marlette and specialist 2c James Potter, with the US Navy in Germany; three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Williams, Applegate; Mrs. Louise Ferrier. Carsonville, and Mrs. Ida Ferrier. Sandusky, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 7 sisters; Mrs. Sarah Lossing, Deckerville; Mrs. Elizabeth Rickett, Goodells, Mrs. Velma Tyrell, Flint; Mrs. Tina Berry, and Almeada Pike, both of Snover, and Mrs. Pearl Korsdale and Mrs. Winifred Navarre, both of Detroit.
