Joseph Potter, the son of James Potter and Margaret Dunlap, lived in Litchfield, beyond the corner adjoining Jabez Robinson, and moved to Williamsburg, Ohio, in 1816. Joseph and his wife Eunice had 5 children: Joseph, Bettie, Davis, John, and Samuel.[1]
Joseph Potter served in the Massachusetts Militia. The DAR lists his service as Captain Actor Patten and Colonel Samuel McCobb McCobb-15 of Lincoln County on the Penobscot Expedition.
